The DNA Isolator PS Kit can be used to isolate DNA from pathological paraffin-embedded tissue sections and specimens and likewise, may be used for gene analysis and epidemiological studies in combination with DNA amplification techniques. Existing methods, which are harsh and time-consuming, are based on de-paraffinization followed by de-proteinization from the fixed tissue. The method used with the DNA Isolator PS Kit overcomes these disadvantages. In addition, alternative protocols are provided for paraffin-embedded tissue sections attached on a glass slide, and a method is provided for the rapid screening of many samples.
